Honey Chia Energy Bars

Honey Recipe

Honey Chia Energy Bars

Yield 9 bars about 2.5in x 2.5in These bars are both crunchy and chewy! You can create them in many combinations depending on what nut butter, dried fruits and or nuts and seeds you use. I topped these bars with mini chocolate chips and used almond butter and dried cranberries. If you would like to make these bars vegan, mix 1 Tablespoon of the flax seed meal with 3 Tablespoons of water in a separate dish and allow to rest for 10 minutes. Substitute this mixture for the egg white. Flax seed meal is easily found in most major grocery...

No Knead Honey Nut Amaranth Bread

Honey Recipe

No Knead Honey Nut Amaranth Bread

Yields 1 large loaf This is my ideal loaf of bread - hearty, full of grains, great toasted with butter and honey or as is -  warm and with soup. It would also make a great peanut butter or almond butter and jelly sandwich. Even better is that this loaf requires little to no kneading. I get all of my flours from King Arthur Flours - they have lots of specialty flours and are super easy to order from online. You can find both hi gluten flour and amaranth flour. It is also where I found this recipe, although I...

Honeycomb Bars

Honeycomb Bars

Full disclosure - this isn't the healthiest of recipes, but it does have a lot of nuts and honey and some dried fruit - it cuts up neatly so would be perfect with afternoon tea - or for a dessert on the go. This is another recipe I adapted from BAKED. I changed the amount of dried fruit and omitted candied orange peel but substituted orange zest instead. For the bar base: ½ cup unsalted butter, softened ½ cup sugar 2 tsp heavy cream 1 large egg yolk 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 ½ cups all purpose flour Pinch of...

Honey Banana Bread

Honey Recipe

Honey Banana Bread

Makes 1 loaf I know just about everyone has their favorite banana bread - I tend to make the recipe my mom makes, which is the one her mother makes - I swear by it. But I found this recipe in a cookbook, Baked Elements which I felt that I had to try. Granted I changed a few things, eliminated a few ingredients, but it is another banana bread that I am adding to my repertoire. Baked also has provided me with another banana bread variation using peanut butter that has proven to be equally delicious. I have never liked nuts or chocolate chips...

Honeycomb Pull Apart Cake with Honey Lemon Glaze

Honey Recipe

Honeycomb Pull Apart Cake with Honey Lemon Glaze

I bought a pan recently simply because it is in the shape of honeycomb and has bees and honeycomb on the bottom! However, it did come with a recipe for this cake which turned out to be quite light and delicious, even with the glaze - I look forward to trying it again and substituting honey for some of the sugar in the actual cake. I believe you could make this cake in a 8" x 11" baking dish, or even as cupcakes, brushing the glaze over the tops of either shortly after it comes out of the oven. Cake 3 cups cake...
